X-WR-CALDESC:LIFT & RISE events are for children ages 5-12 with intellectua
 l and developmental disabilities\; no prior group experience necessary. Re
 gistration for each event closes the Sunday before the event at 6:00 pm.\n
 \nWe are combining LIFT & RISE into one group in order to facilitate frien
 dships\, offer activities for children 5-12 more frequently\, and provide 
 more opportunities to practice social skills and learn through play. LIFT 
 & RISE are play- and experience-based\, structured programs where children
  explore confidence\, friendships\, and early independence in a safe and s
 upportive environment. Sessions run 90 minutes. Participation is encourage
 d\, not forced.\n\nParticipants will explore hands-on building and tinkeri
 ng through cardboard construction\, ramps and rolling experiments\, and si
 mple take-apart/put-together materials. Participants will test ideas\, bui
 ld creations\, and discover cause-and-effect while working alongside peers
 . This session encourages curiosity\, problem-solving\, and shared explora
 tion in a supportive\, play-based environment.
