Local Social & Recreation Activities

  • Whitman College and Walla Walla University have buddy programs where adults with a disability are paired with college students to enjoy social activities and build friendships. Contact for more details or for the Buddy Program at Whitman College.

  • A special needs camp for children with social learning and communications challenges. Camp sessions in July.
    The Adventures in Communication program (Formerly the Speech-Language and Hearing Camp) at Camp Meadowood Springs is a unique recreational summer camp experience mixed with an intensive schedule of individualized speech-language therapy.

  • Creating Memories for Disabled Children was created for the sole purpose of connecting children with disabilities as well as adults with disabilities to nature and to create memories that will last a lifetime. The founder of our organization, Ken Coreson, has been taking children hunting and fishing all of his adult life.

  • Sensory friendly movies (lights turned up, volume lowered slightly, rated G or PG) shown once a month at Cinemark in Walla Walla

  • Music Together Walla Walla is a research-based music and movement program for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, from birth to 5 years, and their families. We are passionate about early childhood music development and believe that every child can learn to sing and dance as naturally as they learn to walk and talk.

  • WWVDN offers many recreational activities for adults and children : bowling, baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, summer camp, 4-H horse camp and much more.

  • Our goal is for each girl to have a positive experience, gain confidence​, and leave with ​memories ​that will last a lifetime.​ Our pageant is open to differently abled girls in kindergarten through age 30.
