A look into our week of fun!
Greetings WWVDN Families and Friends. We just wrapped up our 2023 Annual Summer Camp for kids ages 8 through 21 years old and it was fantastic! We had a great time and we are already excited and planning for next year! This year we extended camp time so that we offered a total of 20 hours of camp to our families - woohoo! This allowed us to do more activities and spend more time together! Camp is a great time for our participants to meet new friends, try new things, and participate in a variety of activities. Please join us as we invite you to take a picture walk through our week at camp.
Camp mornings start off with a couple of group games. We did make it and take it basketball, balloon passes, but the group favorite was parachute games!
After a morning snack (which is tailored to meet all allergy needs of our participants), we head outside for some playground and bubble time!
The afternoons brought us to free choice "Activity Zones". We had 9 different activity zones and 1 "Maker Station." Activity zones included coloring, sensory (stretch sand, clay, playdoh, etc.), 3-D building (marble mazes, brain flakes, etc.) painting (a different paint project each day), puzzles (regular, wooden, & Tetris style), games (we had several but the favorite was the Octopus Blast - think air hockey meets marbles), chill zone (a place to relax, look at books, and use fidgets), action zone (gym - bikes, basketball, balloon tennis, obstacle course, etc.) STEM (solar robot building), and a HUGE Lego zone, where some amazing builds took place! Each day at the maker station was a new take and make. Participants that chose to do the Maker Station made a variety of things such as: tie dye shirts, soap, diamond painting stickers, slime, air dry dough, layered sand bottles, and perler bead creations to name a few.
Camp was a great success and all involved had a wonderful time. Next year we hope to see YOU!
