SOAR is for participants with disabilities age 13 and older. Caregivers are welcome if the participant needs more intensive support. If a parent or caregiver stays during a SOAR event, they are considered a SOAR helper and must complete a background check as required by our grant funder. Our hope is that these clubs would be for participants only, as SOAR is meant to further independence and provide opportunities to gain social skills with peers.
Please find us on Facebook as Soar Walla Walla or on Instagram as soar_wallawalla
To complete a helper / volunteer background check, please visit our webpage at https://www.wwvdn.org/how-to-help/volunteer.html
Register for SOAR events: (Registration closes at 6pm on the Sunday before each event)

Become a SOAR Investor
One thing that makes SOAR special is that it is directed and guided by SOAR participants' input, feedback, and desired activities. YOU are the main drivers of the program. YOU receive the benefits of the activities provided. YOU make it what it is.
All of these opportunities are only possible because of community support. Grants and donations help, but they aren’t guaranteed. That’s why we’re asking anyone connected to SOAR - participants, parents, family members, caregivers to consider becoming a monthly supporter and invest in this program financially.
WWVDN is asking for investors who are willing to set up monthly donations to be used exclusively for SOAR programming. Any amount is gratefully accepted - $5, $10, $20 each month makes an impact and helps make sure SOAR continues to grow and offer activities that connect participants with each other and their community.

SOAR Testimonials
"The SOAR (Social Opportunities and Recreation) program... has allowed teen and adult participants with disabilities the opportunity to further their independence, increase social skills, and build relationships" - Bree Renwick, Special Ed Records Secretary
"This population of adults with disabilities often goes unsupported with socialization and fostered independence. SOAR closes that gap in our community." - Jennifer Matson, Lead Behavior Specialist
"Our collaboration with the [SOAR] program... has shown the significant positive impact it has on individuals with disabilities in our community. I was impressed with how organized the program was, how passionate the people involved were, and how much of an impact they are having in the lives of these individuals." - Jim Fry, President (Pacific Little League)
