This was a summer to remember with Camp Discover and our brand new Camp Empower. We had two weeks packed full of fun and engaging activities for all of our participants. Let’s take a closer look at each of the camps.

Our first camp of the summer was Camp Empower. This was a week-long camp for participants 21 and older. Each day was a different event out in the community. We had an afternoon at Pioneer Park where we got to tie dye shirts and complete a scavenger hunt. On Tuesday we enjoyed bowling at Bowlaway Lanes. Wednesday we spent the morning at Whitman Mission. We were able to get our own presentation and a tour. Thursday was a great day enjoying downtown Walla Walla and finishing at Pine Cone Creamery with some delicious ice cream. And Friday we spent the morning swimming at Memorial Pool and then finished the week with a pizza party!

With this being the first year for Camp Empower, there’s definitely room to improve for next year but it was still a successful week! Being able to provide this camp and to go out into the community is an amazing opportunity for all involved. We are already making plans for next year's Camp Empower!

After the first week of camp, we then transitioned to Camp Discover. This camp is for participants ages 8-21. There were a few road bumps at the start of the week with the smoke and having a location change, but overall this was a great week! We had a variety of activities ranging from arts and crafts to basketball games. Our goal is to offer a variety of activities for all participants to be engaged. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and we look forward to seeing everyone throughout the year at LIFT & RISE and SOAR events!
