July Birthday Celebration & Potluck

On July 11th, families gathered at Wildwood Park for a special Celebration, a July Birthday Party and Potluck. This event was more than just fun in the sun, it was about making sure every child gets a chance to feel celebrated, supported, and included. The water play was a big hit, the kids laughed, played, and cooled off together in a watermelon sprinkler. Parents hung out in the shade, connecting and relaxing, while their kids had fun playing on the swings and the jungle gym. The potluck table was filled with delicious homemade dishes, and of course, we ended with cupcakes and a birthday song for all of our July birthdays.

For some of our kids, traditional birthday parties with classmates or friends aren’t always possible. Social challenges, sensory needs, or simply the demands of everyday life can make it hard to host or attend typical birthday events. These monthly gatherings give children and families a chance to celebrate in a way that’s accessible, joyful, and shared with a caring community. Every child/person deserves to have a place where they are truly accepted and celebrated. Everyone deserves to feel special on their birthday.
