P2P Internet Safety Workshop

By: Geneva Arevalo, P2P Coordinator

We recently had the opportunity to partner with the Walla Walla Police Department for an Internet Safety Workshop, and it was both engaging and incredibly informative. The presentation was interactive and practical, covering online risks, social media safety, gaming chat features, online predators, scams, and warning signs to watch for.

What stood out most was how approachable and real the conversation felt. Officers showed up, answering hard questions, and shared up to date information in a way that was easy to understand and not intimidating. Parents and caregivers asked thoughtful questions, and the discussion focused on awareness, prevention, and how to start meaningful conversations with our kids about staying safe online.

We are grateful for the strong community partnership and for everyone who attended. When we come together to learn and support one another our children are safer.
