SOAR Ignites Friendships at Firehouse #2

SOAR Ignites Friendships at Firehouse #2!

By Tahasha Foxe

When SOAR participants rolled up to Walla Walla Firehouse #2, they had no idea what kind of excitement awaited them! Invited by Lt. Paul Renwick of the Walla Walla Fire Department, our group was treated to an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, games, and new friendships.

The night kicked off in the firehouse bay with pizza, cornhole, and even a little “axe throwing” fun, firefighter style, of course! As everyone enjoyed the festivities, there was a surprise twist: members of the Walla Walla Police Department joined the dinner party, turning the evening into a full community celebration with some of Walla Walla’s finest first responders.

After dinner, Lt. Renwick made a grand entrance with the fire truck, inviting participants to hop in for photos and explore the cab. Next came a hands-on look inside the ambulance, another crowd favorite! Once the tours wrapped up, everyone headed back to the bay to keep the fun going with more games and conversations.

The smiles said it all; our participants had a blast connecting with the heroes who keep our community safe. The firefighters and officers had just as much fun, and we’re already talking about a summer reunion at the station!

Big thanks to Lt. Renwick and the entire crew at Firehouse #2 for opening their doors, their hearts, and their kitchen to SOAR. You’ve truly set our spirits ablaze!
