Elopement Risk Level 1 - With Volunteers

Safety Reminder: SOAR events are designed to be fun, safe, and inclusive. Our volunteers will provide group support and supervision. While we do our best to minimize risks, participants who have a history of elopement (wandering or running) may require additional support from a family member or caregiver (a background check must be completed), especially at public events. Please let us know in advance if your participant may need extra attention so we can plan volunteer coverage accordingly.

LIFT events are for children ages 5-8 with intellectual and developmental disabilities; no prior group experience necessary. Registration for each event closes the Sunday before the event at 6:00 pm.

LIFT is a play-based, structured program where children explore creativity, social skills, and movement in a safe and joyful environment. Sessions run 90 minutes. Participation is encouraged, not forced.

Step into a world of creativity and pretend play! In Imagination Station, participants explore adventure play with scarves, tunnels, and stepping stones while practicing safe, parallel play. Adults guide with playful, narrated storylines that invite children to act out their own imaginative adventures. This interactive session encourages self-expression, social skills, and safe exploration while celebrating each child’s unique ideas in a welcoming environment.
