Elopement Risk Level 1 - With Volunteers

Safety Reminder: SOAR events are designed to be fun, safe, and inclusive. Our volunteers will provide group support and supervision. While we do our best to minimize risks, participants who have a history of elopement (wandering or running) may require additional support from a family member or caregiver (a background check must be completed), especially at public events. Please let us know in advance if your participant may need extra attention so we can plan volunteer coverage accordingly.

SOAR events are for individuals age 13 and older. Registration for each event closes the Sunday before the event at 6:00 pm.

This celebration-style session focuses on helping participants build confidence in asking for help when something online feels wrong. Using a Pokémon Trainer theme in honor of National Pokémon Day, participants will explore real-life digital situations such as unsafe messages, scary content, and pressure to share personal information. Through interactive games, role-play, and guided discussion, participants will practice the STOP • BLOCK • TELL strategy and identify trusted helpers. The night concludes with Pokémon-themed free-choice activities and a positive group celebration.
